The New York Times used a full page to print all the lies President Trump has told since his inauguration. The paper explained, “There is simply no precedent for an American president to spend so much time telling untruths. … He is trying to create an atmosphere in which reality is irrelevant.”

While other news sources, notably NPR, have shied away from using the word “lie,” preferring instead phrases such as falsehoods, the New York Times is very direct: “We are using the word “lie” deliberately. Not every falsehood is deliberate on Trump’s part. But it would be the height of naïveté to imagine he is merely making honest mistakes. He is lying.”
