Dorothy Roberts, Killing the Black Body: Race, Reproduction, and the Meaning of Liberty (1998).

Written by acclaimed social justice scholar, Dorothy Roberts, “Killing the Black Body” explores the history of Black women’s reproduction in sociopolitical context.  It is a powerful book that examines how the struggle for reproductive freedom has multiple plot lines based on race and class.
