Christina Wolbrecht, The Politics of Women’s Rights. This book tracks how the Democratic and Republican parties have both affected and been affected by the women’s movement in the United States. It outlines a history of the women’s movement and the parties, starting in the 1940s, when the Republicans were more supportive of women’s rights (for real!), to the 1960s, when the parties started switching places, to the 1980s when the switch was complete.
